My New Product and a Giveaway!

Last year on the second day of pre-planning I fell in my classroom and broke my right arm. It was definitely an inconvenience, but I did not miss any days of school because of it. We never know when an emergency will happen, though. Planning for a sub can be one of the biggest headaches, right?! How many times do you go to work when you don't feel well just so you won't have to do sub plans? The biggest problem is when I miss work unexpectedly - I live 40 minutes away, so getting things ready last minute is not very practical.

Enter my newest product, the Mega Sub Pack for August and September. This will be printed, laminated, and put into my sub tub for any eventuality. And, I'm already working on new materials for October and November. For those who, like me, don't teach all subjects, I have broken the Mega Pack into three smaller sets to cover ELA, Math, and Science / Social Studies. All four are available now in my TPT store. Click on the pictures to check out the products.

  1. I have been very fortunate. I only missed extended lengths with maternity leave, years ago. I have thought about long term absence when my teammate fell from a ladder late last fall. She broke ribs and her right arm. She was out eight weeks! She went in on weekends and sent things with another teacher. It pays to be prepared!

  7. I fell and broke my arm at school on our first early release/ in-service training day last school year. It was a mess, and I DID miss two and a half school days. Having emergency sub plans is a great idea. I wound up going back to school after leaving the urgent care so I could leave plans and materials.

  8. I missed 5 days of school for my wedding, but I was a resource teacher then so I didn't have a classroom of students. Other than that, probably three days for illness.

  11. A full year! I took a leave of absence the year my second son was born. Before that, it was a 9 week maternity leave with my first. Other than that--no more than 2 in a row for meetings or sickness.
